Some time ago I made a pair of earrings just like this, and because it is such a lovely model, I chose to redesign it and use 24k gold paste to enhance the beauty of the texture.
Nature walks and vacations are a very good opportunity to gather elements which I can use in my design process. This pair of earrings is made by using a mould from a shell which I had in my private stash. I love to collect shells from all over the world, but I cannot remember if this particular one is from Greece or Italy. Does not really matter at the end and I am sure if it were alive, the shell would be very proud to hear that her silhouette is now adorning some pretty lady.
Its rough texture was so nice and the earrings turned exactly as the real shell - they manage to make you think of natural fossilized elements, hiding stories lost in time.
